Cindy Mae Kovacs, born on December 20, 1967, in Corry, PA, passed away on January 16, 2025, in Dayton after a short illness. She was a beloved sister, aunt, and friend whose presence enriched the lives of those around her. Cindy dedicated several years of her life to working in financial institutions, showcasing not only her professionalism but also her unwavering commitment to her career. She held two associate’s degrees, one in medical billing and coding and another in medical assisting, reflecting her determination to excel in her pursuits.

Known for her striking green eyes, Cindy possessed a personality that was both tough and headstrong. Her fierce determination was matched only by her kindness and compassion for others, traits that will be fondly remembered by her family and friends.

In her spare time, Cindy found joy in various hobbies and interests. She had a deep admiration for the color purple and immersed herself in the worlds created through books, puzzles, and sudoku. A dedicated fan of Harry Potter and Ohio State football, she embraced her passions wholeheartedly. An avid bowler and an animal lover, Cindy's vibrant spirit shone through in all facets of her life.

Cindy is survived by her brother, Eddie Kurtich, and her sister, Melanie (George) Collins. She treasured her role as an aunt to her nieces and nephews: Joshua, Madelyn, Collin, Sophia, Gabriel, Noah, Nicholas, Courtney, and Dustin. She also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, and cousins who will cherish her memory.

Cindy was preceded in death by her husband, Chris Kovacs; her father, Edward T. Kurtich, Sr.; her mother, Barbara E. Miller; and her step-father, Jearl L. Miller. Each of these relationships shaped her life, and their memories will continue to be part of the legacy she leaves behind.

As we remember Cindy Mae Kovacs, we honor a woman whose strength and heart impacted so many. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love and laughter she shared throughout her life.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 1-2pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, Ohio 45424. The service will follow at 2pm.
