Chuck Bussard, age 87, of Beavercreek, passed away on May 1, 2024, at Hospice of Dayton, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on July 17, 1936, the son of the late Paul and Jean Bussard.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Gayle Lynn Bussard; and his sister, Patricia LaBruyere.
He is survived by beloved wife of 66 years, Ruth Ann Bussard; daughter, Janet (Greg) Bussard-Stecklein; grandson, Destin (Shavonna) Stecklein; great grandson, Darrius; and many other loving family and friends.
During his younger years, he served his country proudly by the serving in the United States Army Selective Service. Chuck worked for many years as a Mechanical Engineer with various companies, including NCR, Monarch Marking and Neaton. He was a member of the APBA (American Power Boat Association) for over 50 years. In his free time, he enjoyed playing "Mr. Fix-It" for his family, friends and neighbors. Chuck also enjoyed racing power boats, camping, fishing in Canada and taking his family to Disney World. Even though he was very set in his ways, he was always there for those he knew and loved.
Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm, on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. Graveside Services will be held privately with the family at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, in New Carlisle, Ohio, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia Society or to the Hospice of Dayton.
