Christopher Michael Young, "Chris" age 42, of Kettering, passed away unexpectedly on January 16, 2022. He was born December 17, 1979 in Dayton, Ohio to James Dee and Barbara J. (Hensley) Young.
Chris was a graduate and the Valedictorian of Patterson Coop High School, Class of 1998 and went on to earn his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Robert Morris College. During his high school and college years he excelled on the football teams, playing Semi-Pro and Arena ball.
Chris was an avid Bengals fan, fisherman, and enjoyed hunting with his dad.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Dee Young, grandparents Janet Hensley "Nanny", Gilbert Hensley, DeForest Young, uncle Michael Young, aunt Linda McNees, aunt Kim Hensley, and cousin Sasha Casper.
Chris is survived by his mother Barbara Young; his wife, Sombath Young; his children, Chrisilin Young, Maley Young, Rainsey Young, and Christgyn Young; brothers Joseph Young and wife Penny, Daniel Young and Amy Rose; his grandma Gerry Young; his nephews Kyle, Hunter, Luke, Kaleb, Kaden, Mason, Ranger, Logan, and Tywan; his nieces Lauren, Danielle, Haley, Payton, and Lily; and his loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Chris loved his family and spending time with his children. He was the most kind hearted and loving person, and had such a good soul. He was a gentle giant who could light up a room. Chris was funny and goofy, was the king of the "dad jokes" and the life of the party.
Chris was deeply loved and will be most remembered for his love of his family and close loving relationship with his father. He will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 10:30 am at Holy Angels Church 1322 Brown Street Dayton, Ohio 45409.
Burial will follow at Calvary cemetery.
