Christopher B. Thompson

March 15, 1975 — November 22, 2022

Our beloved Christopher B. Thompson entered this life on March 15th, 1975, in Columbus, Ohio at "The Ohio State University Hospital". He was the 6th child born to the union of Dolphus D. Thompson Sr. and Alethia (Berry) Thompson.

Christopher lived in Columbus, Ohio until he was around 1 year old. By 1976 his mother Alethia (Berry) Thompson moved the family to Birmingham, Alabama. Christopher was a remarkable child who loved school, he especially loved to read, which is how his love for trivia began. Christopher became a Christian at an early age and was taught to love the Lord. His two older sisters named him Christopher after Christ. He attended church with his family regularly and loved reading the bible. Christopher was a happy child full of energy and enthusiasm, which is where the nickname, "Pop" came from. He was always popping up in the air like a Mexican jumping bean. He laughed every time he heard that story.

As a Pre-teen the family moved back to Columbus, Ohio. He enjoyed sports, especially "The Ohio State" football team. As Christopher grew older, he became committed in assisting his mother with the missionary work they were both devoted to, by feeding and spreading the word to the hungry and homeless. Their missionary work took him to Washington DC where they frequently traveled, and Dayton, Ohio where he attended Colonial White High School.

As a young man Christopher loved meeting and holding conversations with people from all levels of society. He enjoyed sharing stories of travel, debating politics, sport trivia and the Bible. Christopher impressed even the most avid sport enthusiast with his memory and detail of teams, dates, and players personal data. Christopher's love for reading lead him to the Columbus Library where he spent many passing hours teaching himself how to use the computer.

At the age of forty-one, Christopher moved to Dayton, Ohio. He became a member of the "Miracle Clubhouse" with Goodwill Easter Seals where he worked as a "Kitchen aide." In the spring he also enjoyed working in their garden with staff and peers. Christopher also attended Maranatha Worship Centre every Sunday. He enjoyed discussing the Minister's sermon at Sunday dinner. He later became a resident of "The Marshall House" in Kettering, Ohio living semi-independently until his health began to decline. With that twinkle in his eyes, a big smile and a grateful heart, Christopher continued to maintain his optimism and his unconditional love for God, family, and purpose. We were all blessed to have known him in this life.

Christopher is survived by his mother, Alethia (Berry) Thompson; his siblings Deirdre L. Thompson, Deborah L. (Thompson) Bostick, Dolphus D. Thompson Jr., John D. (Dianne) Thompson, Ruth C. Thompson, and Ebony J. (Dave) Nolan. 5 nephews, 3 nieces and 1 great-nephew; along with a host of loving Uncles, Aunts, and cousins. He will be missed by friends and family including his special brother Kurtis E. Haskins. Christopher was an avid animal lover and considered his sister Ruth's dogs named Bryan and Briona and the family dogs in Dayton, Ohio, Oro and Ollie as his very own, he walked and fed them every chance he got.

Christopher B. Thompson departed this life after a lengthy illness on Tuesday November 22nd, 2022, at the age of forty-seven. He is proceeded in death by his father, Dolphus D. Thompson Sr., and brother Micros W. Thompson.
