Christine Hornsby

Hornsby, Christine age 82 of Kettering, passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 8, 2018. She was born January 20, 1936 in Rose Hill VA to the late George and Hannah Matlock.

In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her step-daughter, Cathy Amburgey; sister, Lillie Hunt and brother, Henry Matlock. Christine is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Charles Hornsby; step-daughter, Regina Weaver; nephew Randy Matlock; nieces, Donna (John) Rose, Jessica Hunt and Diane Pitzinger; great nieces, Jayme Hotopp and Tara Martinez; great nephews, Brian Czaplicki and Raymond Hughes.

Christine loved to garden and was especially fond of her roses. She also enjoyed quilting and had created many beautiful works of art over the years. She will be missed by so many. Heaven gained a very special angel.

Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Monday, August 13, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home – Kettering. Services will begin 10:00 am Tuesday, August 14, 2018 also at the funeral home and officiated by Pastor Jerry Siler of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery, Miamisburg.
