Christian Mantz Sr.
September 20, 1927 — July 31, 2012
MANTZ Sr., Christian "Chris" F., age 84, of West Carrollton, OH passed away Tuesday July 31, 2012.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Lillian Mantz; and brother, Joseph Mantz.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Bernice Mantz; children, Chris (Vanessa) Mantz, Patty Mantz; Albert (Teresa) Mantz, and Bruce Mantz Sr.; sister-in-law, Eleanor Mantz, grandchildren, Tess, Bruce Jr., Lori, Michelle, and Christan; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Chris retired from Delco Moraine after 36 years of service, served in the US Navy for 4 years during WWII, and was a lifetime member of Amvets Post #061, Rocky Fork Lake. He was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church. He loved camping, fishing, and square dancing.
Visitation is Friday August 3, 2012 from 5pm to 8pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel), Kettering, OH.
Funeral Mass is Saturday August 4, 2012 at 10am at St. Henry's Catholic Church, Dayton, OH.
Interment is in Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville, OH.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Dayton and St. Henry's for their special care and donations can be made to them in Christian's honor.
