Christi R. Dey, age 54, of Miamisburg, OH passed away on May 1, 2023. Christi was born in Middletown, OH on October 15, 1968. She was the daughter of Charles "Cliff" and Charlotte (Phillips) Hawthorn. Christi was a 1987 graduate of Carlisle High School and went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Miami University. On September 20, 1997, she married Mark Dey and they began their life together in Miamisburg, OH.
During her working career, Christi was a buyer for Signal Technology Laboratories. Later when her daughter Amanda began school, Christi became Amanda's greatest cheerleader watching her play Lacrosse and other sports. Christi was a voracious reader and looked forward to going out for dinner with Mark and Amanda. She also loved to travel, beginning with her and Mark's honeymoon to Grand Cayman Island where she swam with the stingrays. She had a wonderful, engaging personality and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Along with her parents, Christi is survived by her loving husband, Mark; daughter, Amanda; brother, James (Leah) Hawthorn of Kettering, OH; sister, Cathy (Greg) Wirth of Springboro, OH; nieces and nephews, Grant Wirth, Aleah Arnold, Erin Williamson and Nichole Thomas.
A Gathering will be held Tuesday, May 16, from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Newcomer Centerville Chapel, 820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd. Dayton, OH 45459.
Christi's family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to be made in Christi's name to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
