Christene Carter, age 78 years of Miamisburg, Ohio. Mrs. Christene Carter left her earthly home for her heavenly home on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 10:08 PM. She was born on March 23, 1934 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of the late Roland W. Ingram and Mae Gilbert (Ray) Ingram. She was married to the late George Samual Carter.
She attended Westerville High School and completed several college courses. Christene retired from Rike's department store as a manager in the home furnishing department. After retiring from Rike's, she worked at the Urban League in Dayton, Ohio and was chosen to work with the United Way as a Marketing Campaign Manager (giving presentations to various businesses in the area).
Christene is survived by 2 sons, Reverend Richard S. Carter and his wife, Ruthie R. Carter, of DeBary, Florida; and Henry G. Carter of Dayton, Ohio. 4 grandchildren (Meiko, Christina, Janice Irene and Tamari); 3 great grandchildren (Nevada, Kamryn and Maurice, Jr.); aunts, uncles, a brother-in-law, sister-in-laws, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her parents; her husband, George; and sister, Irene Ingram.

The family will receive friends Thursday, January 17, 2013 from 5-7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, Ohio 45439). The funeral will be held Friday, January 18, 2013 at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at West Memory Gardens in Moraine, Ohio.
