Chris Montgomery

Christopher Kent Montgomery, age 68, of Dayton, Ohio died Monday, February 15th, 2021 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born June 8th, 1952. Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Montgomery.

Survivors include his father, James Montgomery; siblings, David (Sandy Bernhard) Montgomery, Jim (Joy) Montgomery, Scott Montgomery, and Mary Anne (Steve) Yarmosky; daughters, Emily Fetters, Melissa (Andy) Richardson, and Katie (Denny) Hirt; grandchildren: Zachary, Amanda, Stephanie, Brielle, Lillian, Andrew, Zelda, and Tristan; great-grandchildren: Aaron Jacob, Elliana and Hazel; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and relatives. Chris is also survived by his close family friend, Virgie.

Chris had a deep love of his family and of music. Bluegrass music was his greatest passion. He wrote over a thousand songs throughout his lifetime and created his own publishing company, his most prized accomplishments. Chris wanted to be remembered for writing songs, and he will be remembered for that and much more.
