Chief J. Mullins Sr.

Chief Master Sergeant Jim J. Mullins, Sr., age 87, passed away at his home on August 3, 2023. He was born on November 23, 1935 in Bonnie Blue, Virginia to the late Ellis and Hazel Mullins. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son, Mike Mullins.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Mary Mullins; son, Jim Mullins Jr. of Huber Heights; stepson, Dennis Rife of Troy; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many other family and friends.

Jim served 30 years in the Air Force and 15 years teaching Jr. ROTC at Wayne High School. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. Jim was always keeping busy, taking walks, relaxing on the back porch, and spending time studying his Bible.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. A funeral service with military honors will begin at 1:30pm. Jim will be laid to rest at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
