Cheryl L. Aubin, Doctor of Nursing Practice of Dayton, OH, passed away unexpectedly on January 26, 2018 at the age of 62 while at home recovering from knee surgery.
Cheryl is survived by her husband of 42 years, Raymond; her children, Ryan and Jamie; her best friend Donna, brother Tim, and her loyal and beloved dogs Bruno and Bella. She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas E. and Leona M. Saylor and brother Greg.
Cheryl was a devoted, and loving wife, mother, and friend. She spent her career as an ER nurse helping thousands of others during their most vulnerable times. As an educator at Wright State University, she shared her decades of knowledge and experience with the next generation of nurses so that they could navigate their careers caring for others as she had. She took pride in participating in Doctors Without Borders, selflessly volunteering her time to the people of Honduras. Cheryl enjoyed the all encompassing beauty of nature, be it far away vistas, or her own gardens at home. Always enjoying the sun and water, she enjoyed traveling; spending summers at Lake Cumberland, and winter vacations traversing the Caribbean both above and below the water. She loved athletics, in particular the Reds, Ohio State Football, and the Bengals.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on February 23 at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, at 2300 S. Smithville Rd, in Dayton. A celebration of Cheryl's life will follow the service at Polen Farm in Kettering from 12pm - 5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Doctors Without Borders.
