Chelsea Slone went home to the Lord on Saturday, February 6, 2021. The world lost a vivacious lady who will always be known for her love of life and her great love of her husband, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Chelsea will be best remembered for her love of antiques, her inability to pass up a good garage sale or flea market and her yearly visits to her beloved Maine. Chelsea had many people she called "friend," opening her heart to many too numerous to mention, yet never forgotten and often spoke of fun and fond memories of those she loved. Very often Chelsea treated people with her homemade pies just to let them know she was thinking of them and was thankful for them, trying to always share the sweetness of life and show kindness to others whenever possible.
Chelsea was born at her family home on September 11, 1930, in Pippa Passes, Kentucky to Nick and Susie Slone. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bayless Slone, who was the absolute love of her life, her sisters Joyce Cornett, Allyne Johnson, Mary Dobson, her brothers Sidney Slone and Emil Slone; and daughter-in-law Myra Slone. She is survived by her son Kip Slone of Dayton, her daughter Drenda (Larry) Strong of Xenia, her son David Slone of Bellbrook, and her daughter Karen (Gary) Poulos of Xenia, and special friends, Midge Sturgeon, Carol Ward, and Wanda Dudley; ten grandchildren and their spouses, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; her sisters Juanita Boorman of Brandenburg, Kentucky, Clova Sparks of Milan, Indiana and Cathy (Doug) Profitt of Raceland, Kentucky. She will be greatly missed; however, great comfort will be taken knowing she will be once again reunited with her dear, sweet Bayless.
