Charles Loyd Vaughn Sr.

Charles Loyd Vaughn Sr., aged 92, passed away on September 23, 2023. He was born to Ruby and Jasper Vaughn on May 14, 1931, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers, Jack Wayne, Carl Edward, Earl Dee, Joe "Bo" Laverne, and Gary Lee; 1 half brother, Harold Cole; 3 half sisters, Evelyn Vaughn, Cleatus Vaughn Caskey, and Dorothy Cole Rodgers; and 1 daughter, Sharon Vaughn Mayoras. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wanda (Newell) Vaughn; his four sons, Steven Alan, Charles Jr. "Chuck" (Misha), Jason (Miko), and Mark (Jill); three daughters, Deborah Gillogly (Bob), Misty Godwin, and Tina Warman (Brian); 18 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Charles proudly served his country for 25 years in the United States Air Force serving during the Berlin Airlift, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He retired as a Master Sergeant in 1971. A visitation will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a service at 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). Charles will be laid to rest at Grape Grove Cemetery following the service.
