Charles "Chuck" Todd, 97, of Centerville, passed away on Thursday, December 8th, 2022, at his home. He was born May 29, 1925, in Muskegon, Michigan, to the late James E. and Grace A. (Sweezey) Todd.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II and the Korean War. He was a tail gunner on a B-29 Bomber called the "Dragon Lady". He attended Kent State University and received his Associate's Degree.
Chuck loved cooking and was known for his peanut butter fudge and Kahlua mousse. He also loved to travel throughout Europe with his wife, Nancy. He always had a war story to tell you, and spent many days refurbishing old cars. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandpa.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Nancy Todd; and his two brothers, Robert Todd and William Todd.
He leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory, including his daughter, Kimberly (Wilburn) Gabbard; granddaughter, Kasey (Chris) Beals; and a sister, Marilyn Wenk; as well as his pet cat, Sir Sandwich "Sammie".
He is also survived by a son, Scott Todd; and granddaughter, Alexandra Leigh Todd.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 23rd, 2022 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Newcomer Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Road, Dayton, Ohio 45459). His final resting place will be at Dayton National Cemetery with full military honors at a later date.
