Charles Stone

June 28, 1941 — April 1, 2015

Charles W. Stone, went to rest on Wednesday, April 1, 2015. Born June 28, 1941, to the late Willie Cleo Stone and Freddie Mae Thompson.

Charles was a Jazz advocate, an entrepreneur, the host of the WDPS radio show, a member of the Dayton Blues Society, and he earned the Dayton Chamber of
Commerce Arts and Culture Businessman of the year award.

He is preceded in death by his step-father, Sterling Hathcock; children, Dwane Stone, Ryan Stone, Dawn Edwards; great-granddaughter, Andrela Curry; step-sister, Toni McGriff.

Charles is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pamella; daughters, Carla Curry, Yolanda (Rodney) Reid, Cindy (Charles) Reese-Hopkins; son, Brent Stone, Grant Stone, Bernie; special cousins, Thelma Turner, Rhonda Beckwith; numerous grandchildren; many great grandchildren; dear friend, Ron Gable; and a host of other family and friends.

Memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice.

A visitation will be held Friday, April 10, 2015 from 12:30pm until 1:30pm time of service at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH with Pastor Ronald Harp officiating. Burial will follow at the Preble Memory Gardens in West Alexandria.
