Charles Ray Smith

August 3, 1940 — July 21, 2019

Charles Ray Smith, age 78 of Beavercreek, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born August 3, 1940 in Campton, Kentucky the son of Clyde and Hazel Smith.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Howard and Clyde, Jr.; sisters, Ella Jane and Kay.

Charles retired from Flexicore Systems Inc. in 2000. Charles loved to mow lawns with his grandson. He was very active and always had to be doing something. He loved working at the food pantry at the Hope Foundation at the Vineyard Church. He enjoyed putting together puzzles in the winter. There was a room in his house devoted especially to puzzles. Charles was always willing to help anyone.

Charles is survived by his wife of 53 years Maggie; daughter, Charla R. (Chris) Dick; grandchildren, Zachary Dick, Elizabeth Dick; 2 brothers and 9 sisters. He is also survived by numerous family and friends.

Funeral Service will be held on July 25, 2019 at 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Visitation will be July 25, 2019 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am also at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Charles' name to Hospice of Dayton 324 Wilmington Pike Dayton, OH.
