Charles N. "Charlie" Shisler, age 65, of Huber Heights, Ohio, died Sunday, February 11, 2024. Charlie was preceded in death by his father Charles "Chuck", and is survived by his mother, Norma Jean; nine siblings: Liz (Larry) Niswonger, Dave (Teresa) Shisler, Rich (Cindy) Shisler, Phil (Melanie) Shisler, Judy (Jimmy) Bowman, Teresa Brown, John (Tonya) Shisler, Karl Shisler, Bill (Lisa) Shisler; and his children: Danny Shisler and Holly Bundy-Reichard; and many other relatives.
Charlie was born in Chillicothe, Ohio, the fourth of what would become a family of ten children. The family moved to Huber Heights in 1962, where Charlie resided most of his life. Charlie was a "people-person," quick to make friends wherever life took him. Family was important to Charlie and he was always ready to help with whatever he could, from mowing the lawn to trimming trees. Charlie liked working with tools, but was unable to continue following a stroke he suffered in 2017. Charlie loved watching the Bengals, OSU football and the Cincinnati Reds. He also was a NASCAR fan, enjoyed playing cornhole at family gatherings, and was a lover of dogs.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday, February, 16, 2024 at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Huber Heights. In Charlie's memory, mourners are welcome to wear OSU, Bengals, Reds, or NASCAR clothing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Charlie's love of dogs to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton.
