SCHMALSTIG, Charles J., age 91, of Kettering, passed away on December 30, 2014. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Deanie; son, Chip; brothers, Paul and Edward, and sister, Kathleen Hinders.
Charles is survived by his brothers, Tom (Marilyn) and Jerry (Jo Dee); sisters, Virginia Marshall, Mary Hoelscher, and Carol (Carl) Kessan, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, special nephew and niece, Tom and Susie Stites of Flagler Beach, FL. Charles retired from NCR and was a WWII veteran having served in the United States Army Air Corp in the Pacific Theater.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on January 14, 2015 at Ascension Church, 2025 Woodman Dr., Kettering, OH. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
