Charles Read

READ, Charles "Ed," age 77, of West Carrollton, passed away Sun., Aug. 29, 2004 at Hospice of Dayton. He is survived by his wife Kathleen A., to whom he was married 57 years; 1 brother Robert J. Read (Kathleen M.); brother-in-law Bill Comeau (Lois); nieces and nephews Robert G. Read (LaVonne), Kathy Wagner, Delia Carter, Elizabeth Cashman and William, Paul, Edward and Allan Comeau; great-nieces and nephews Lori Read, Melissa Hefelfinger, Amanda Knott and Bradley and Andrew Wagner and special friends John O'Gorman and Joyce Read. Ed retired from ASC Associates in Cincinnati and had worked for Oberer Construction and Miami Engineering Co. He was an active member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, a graduate of the Univ. of Maine, a veteran of the U.S. Army during W.W.II and a member of the K of C, St. Joseph Council, Miamisburg, where he was Grand Knight several times and financial secretary for 10 years. Mass of Christian Burial 11 A.M., Fri., Sept. 3, 2004 at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church. Interment Our Lady of Good Hope Cemetery. Visitation 5 - 8 P.M. Thursday at Newcomer - Farley Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Prayers 7:30 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Our Lady of Good Hope Memorial Fund in Ed's memory.
