Charles R. Guy
Age 90, of Vandalia, Ohio passed away Friday, October 20, 2006, at home after a long battle with congestive heart failure.
Charles was born on October 24, 1916, in old North Dayton, graduating from Kiser H. S. in 1936 where he was all-city in basketball and football.
He owned and operated the J. R. Guy Plumbing and Electro Sewer Service Plumbing companies for many years before retiring in 1981. During WW II Charlie served in the United States Army.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Mildred Guy; daughters, Pat (Dick) Muterspaw of Springboro; Jean (Richard) Palmer of Huber Heights; Nancy (Al) Szkarupa of Tipp City; Cheryl (Paul) Caudill of Dayton; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one son, Charles, Jr., his parents, Joseph & Sophia (Schindler) Guy and his brother, Russell.
The family would like to express their loving appreciation to his caregivers, Jesse & Holly James. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Tuesday at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, with funeral service to follow at 11:30 a.m. Pastor Gilbert Santiago will officiate. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
