Charles R. Field
Age 83, of West Carrollton, passed away Friday, June 23, 2006, at Hospice of Dayton after a brief illness.
He was born July 18, 1922 to Raymond & Myrtle (Collins) Field, who preceded him in death, in addition to his sister, Helen Bardwell.
Charles is survived by his wife of 61 years, Eveline (Clare) Field; two sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond & Celia Field of Englewood and Edward & Beverly Field of Huber Heights; three grandchildren, Susan (Bill) Jones, Christopher and Matthew Field; one great grandchild, Hanna Jones; and by one brother and sister-in-law, Raymond & Caroline Field of Tipp City.
During WW II Charles served in the U. S. Army Air Corps with duty in both England and France. He retired from Arco Tool & Die Company in 1987 with 40 years of service and was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and stamp collector.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 27, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Interment will follow at the Dayton National Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
