Charles Norman Butler

Charles N. Butler, 79, of Dayton, passed away February 4, 2016. Charles was born in Dayton, Ohio on August 24, 1936 to the late Charles Butler and Fannie Walker.
Charles retired from General Motors after over 30 years of service. He graduated from Dunbar HS, Class of 1957, was a member of UAW and Shiloh Villas Retirement Community.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by brother, James (Barbara) Walker; and sisters, Phyllis McPherson, Pauline Walker, Betty Butler.
He is survived by his sons, Douglas Lamar Jeffery-Butler, Charles Miller, Charles Williams; daughters, Christina (Anthony) Brown, Jennifer (Curtis) Williams, Crystal Thornton, Lisa Vaughn; wife, Mary Gist-Butler; brother, Charles "Richard" (Peggy) Butler; sisters, Mary Louise Lay, Shirley Davis, Francis (Robert) Herrington, Terrie Dortch and Chantae McCary; and a host of extended family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 am on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Jeffersonview Cemetery
