Charles L. "Bud" Mitchell, age 92 of Dayton, formerly of Springfield, took his journey to Heaven on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. Preceded in death by his parents: Charles A. and Alice Mitchell; and sisters: Georgia Protsman and Fynetta Sinfield.
Bud was so loved and is survived by his wife of 70 years, Violet Mitchell; daughters and sons-in-law: Mary and John Whitley and Rose Ann and Tom Funk; grandchildren: Marianne Abbott, Mike (Lorna) Gentry and Scott Basso; 12 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
Bud was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, WWII and retired from WPAFB after many years of civil service there.
