Charles Mckenzie
November 21, 1931 — January 17, 2012
McKENZIE, Charles A. "Charlie" age 80 of Dayton passed away January 17, 2012 at Hospice of Dayton.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Cloma McKenzie and brother-in-laws, Dave Pelphrey and Garry Cantrell.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Darlene McKenzie; sons, Mike (Cressie) and Thomas (Betty); grandchildren, Charlie, Theron, K'Cie "Kenny", Kimberly Burton, Amanda Rachae'l, Amanda Danielle, and Michael; great-grandchildren, Mattie and Gabriel; siblings, James O. (Betty), Phyllis (Jack) Pelphrey, Betty Pelphrey, Donlyn Cantrell, and Gail (Danny) Spradlin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charlie served his country in the United States Army. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, and father who will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 1:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 2:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – North, 4104 Needmore Rd. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Hospice of Dayton.
