EVANS, Charles Lloyd. "Buckwheat" age 85 of Dayton, OH passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015. He was born on Sep 30, 1929 in Portsmouth, OH. He was a US Navy veteran. He retired from Carpenters Union Local 104. Buckwheat was preceded in death by his parents, Louis & Stella (Ingles) Evans, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Glenda (Morrow) Evans; daughter Charlotte (Mike) Brandenburg of St. Paris, OH; son, Charles Evans of New Carlisle, OH; daughter, Patricia (David) Snavely of New Carlisle, OH; sister-in-law, Doris Evans of TN; brother-in-law, "Skip" Curto of TX; 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa, and great-grandpa who will be greatly missed by all. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd Beavercreek, OH 45432. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 9, 2015 at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Royal Oaks Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Charles "Buckwheat" Evans to the Hospice of Dayton.
