Charles C. Leighly, Jr.

February 1, 1957 — June 16, 2023

Charles C. "Charlie" Leighly, Jr., age 66, of Xenia, passed away on June 16, 2023, at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Xenia, Ohio, on February 1, 1957, the son of the late Charles Leighly and Georgia Leighly.

He was preceded in death by his father; his brother, Timothy Leighly; and his nephews, Allen and Phillip Leighly.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Vivian Leighly; daughter, Rachel (Michael Fudge) Leighly; mother, Georgia Leighly; granddaughter, Willow Fudge; siblings, Debbie (Paul), Linda (Phil), Tammy (Red), Steve and Tina (Willie); sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Patty and Ralph "Eddie" (Carol); and many other loving nieces, nephews, family, co-workers and friends.

Charlie retired from Wenco after many years in the Construction business. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool, mushroom hunting and spending time in the outdoors. He was a devoted family man and adored the time spent with them. Charlie was always the life of the party, always with his Stroh's in hand, and wants those who knew him to remember the good times spent together. He will always be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Charlie's Life will be held at a later date.

Donations may be made in his honor to the wildlife charity of one's choice.

"If he was your father, your love and respect for him grew with the years
as you came to realize what he had given you...
If he was your husband, the years were all good and the difficult
moments served only to strengthen the bond...
If he was your grandfather, you had only a tiny bit of the love and
happiness he would have given you and perhaps yours is the greatest loss...
If our sorrow is to be lessened by anything, it may be remembering the
joy of loving and being loved by him."
