Charles L. "Lloyd" Grooms, 73, of Dayton, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at home with his loving wife by his side.
He was born on July 16, 1940 in Adams County to the late James A. and Helen M. Grooms.
In addition to his parents, Lloyd was also preceded in death by his sister, Diana Moore.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judith (Applegate) Grooms; two sons, Tony Lloyd and Jeffrey Thomas; one grandson, Jeffrey T. Jr.; brother, James L. Grooms; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Brewer and Doris Harper; 1 brother-in-law, John H. Applegate; numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends.
Lloyd was a member of the U.S. Army from 1956-1959. He retired as a Maintenance Supervisor from Northridge Board of Education after 32 years of service. He was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church for many years. He will be missed by all.
Visitation will be held from Noon – 2 PM Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, Ohio where funeral services will begin at 2 PM Saturday, with Pastor Del Stephens officiating.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
