KIDD, Charles age 89, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at home.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Macil and daughter Deborah Louise Hadley (Kidd). He is survived by his daughter, Shirley and husband Jeffery Bennett of Vandalia; sons Chuck of Friendswood, TX, Christopher and wife Cindy of Elm Grove, WS.; grandchildren Shannon and husband Tom Sellars, Steve, Andrew, Elizabeth, Jake, Becca, Luke, Lauren, Jonah, Jonathan, Jessica, Grace and Noah; sister Louise Lewis of Cumberland, KY; brother John of Lexington, KY and numerous other relatives and friends.
Charles proudly served as an officer in the United States Army during WWII with the 163rd Field Artillery Battalion, "Avengers of Bataan." He retired from Poppelemeir's Paint and Decorating Store 25 years ago. Thereafter he lived a blessed life of gardening and investing his time and energies in his children, grandchildren, family and friends. He was a longtime member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Monday, February 21, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.
