Charles J. Howard Jr., age 46 of Vandalia, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2019 at his home. He was born on August 13, 1973 in Dayton, Ohio, to Charles J. Howard Sr. and Juanita J. Davis-Hartley.
Charles J. Howard Jr, also known as "Jojo," was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, son and friend. Jojo was a very caring, generous and happy man. He knew how to walk into a room of strangers and leave with many new friends. Jojo was always laughing and making jokes. He always had a smile on his face that would light up any room. He enjoyed weekends at his lake house at Brookville Lake, where he loved to boat and fish with family and friends. When he wasn't at the lake, you could find him at home with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Marguriete Howard; father, Charles J. Howard, Sr.; mother, Juanita J. Davis-Hartley; and brother, Ricardo A. Seaman-Howard.
Jojo is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Melissa A. Howard; three loving daughters, Brittney N. (Andrew) Dounouk, Athenia M. Fletcher and Sierra R. Fletcher; loving step-parents, Rickie E. (Judy L.) Strowbridge; brother, Rickie E. Strowbridge Jr.; two granddaughters, Elaina J. Ross and Samantha G. Dounouk; one grandson, Bryson J. Martin; one nephew, Ricardo E. Strowbridge; two nieces, Remey E. Strowbridge and Maisyn A. Strowbridge; as well as many friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424). A Celebration of Life will begin at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
