Charles B. Hatmaker, age 71, of Dayton, passed away on December 23rd, 2020, at the Dayton VA Medical Center. He was born in Campbell County, Tennessee, on December 4th, 1949, the son of the late William and Eva Hatmaker.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Kathryn Hatmaker; sons, Trinity (Trisha) Wayne Watters, Charlie (Diana) Hatmaker and Dennis J. Hatmaker; best friend (whom he thought of as a Brother), Bill Katzenbach; and many loving grandchildren, family and friends.
He retired from Flowserve in 2003, after 30 years of employment. Charles served his country proudly by serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of the Vietnam Veterans of America. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, shooting guns, spending time with family and most importantly, spoiling his grandbabies.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, from 4pm-6pm, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, where funeral services will begin at 6pm.
The family wants to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful care given to Charles while he was treated at the Dayton VA Medical Center, especially to his nurse, Kendra.
