Charles (Chuck) Frank Grove, 79, of 201 Waldorf Drive, Harrison Township, went peacefully to his eternal reward on October 19, 2017.
He was born in Franklin, Pennsylvania on May 27, 1938. He married Marcia A. Whitman on June 5, 1964. Marcia proceeded Chuck in death on September 24, 2015.
Chuck was an active member with The Salvation Army for almost all his life. He was enrolled as a Junior Soldier in The Salvation Army, in 1947 and became a Senior Soldier on April 18, 1954 in Franklin, Pennsylvania. He transferred to The Salvation Army in 1967. He then transferred to The Salvation Army in Dayton on November 12, 1987. He worked at The Salvation Army, 141 W. 5th Street, Dayton, Ohio for many years with his wife Marcia, prior to their retirement. He attended services regularly, participating in the Men's Fellowship program. He would regularly visit with the men at The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Center on Patterson Boulevard.
Chuck enjoyed walking with the love of his life, Marcia, through Eastwood Park. The family would vacation frequently in Franklin, Pennsylvania where they would enjoy holidays and times with family.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Davis, his son Calvin Grove, a grandson Joshua Omiatek and two great grandchildren, Dakota and Bryanna. He is also survived by two sisters, Delores Ross of Franklin, PA and Ann Phillips of Modesto, CA along with two brothers, Robert Grove of Virginia and James Grove of Franklin, PA.
Funeral Services will be held at The Salvation Army Kroc Center, 1000 N. Keowee Street, Dayton, OH on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. Viewing will be held from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, the service at 11:00 AM and a repass time at noon. Major Stanley W. Senak will be officiating.
