Charles Richard "Rich" Evans, Sr., age 79, of Xenia, passed away on June 22, 2021. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on November 6, 1941, the son of the late Charles and Etta Evans.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 60 years, Cheryl Evans; sons, Charles Evans, Jr. and Donald Evans; daughter, Christine Evans; and grandson, Johnny Hill.
Rich is survived by his children, Gary Evans, Ronnie (Sunday Grinnell) Evans and Rhonda (John Hill) Evans; grandchildren, Matt (Missy), Shawn (Manti), Tyler, Brandi (Chris), Brittany (Tony), Charles III, Lee and Samantha; great grandchildren, Kanan, Isaac, A.J., Alliyah and Greyson; and many other loving family and friends.
He retired from Sherman Dixie Trucking, where he was a truck driver for many years. Rich was an active Drag Racer for over 50 years. In his free time, he enjoyed drag racing, bowling, spending time with his family and having cookouts. Rich had a great sense of humor and was never afraid to share his opinion. He loved to make people laugh. He was an amazing father to his children and will be greatly missed by them.
Visitation will be held from 12:00pm-1:00pm, on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, where services will begin at 1:00pm with Pastor Roy McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow at Willow View Cemetery.
