Charles Eugene Mcconnell
November 26, 1934 — April 18, 2014
Charles E. McConnell, age 79 of Dayton passed from this life on Friday, April 18, 2014 at The Hospice of Dayton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, LaVern & Jane McConnell and brother, Robert W. McConnell.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Diane McConnell; father-in-law, Gene T. West; brother-in-law, Dennis (Tonnia) West; favorite nephew, Jack "Eli" West and many other relatives and friends.
A graduate of Wilbur Wright High School Class of '52, he served in the U.S. Navy for over 6 years and performed in several Kenley Player Productions. He retired from Monarch Marking Systems/Paxar after 32 years. He was a 32 Degree Mason, a member of Alpha Lodge, Antioch Shrine, Past Patron of Jacob Eby Chapter OES and served as Director of Antioch Pipers. An avid golfer, Chuck enjoyed many rounds of golf with his friends at Riverbend and Holly Hills golf courses.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to Jacob Eby Chapter No. 571 OES.
