DAVIS, Rev. Charles Edward, age 84, died at his home Friday, May 4, 2007. He was born in Muhlenberg Co., KY. He was retired from Chrysler. Charles pastored churches for 40 years. He pastored Dayton First Church of General Baptist, East Alton General Baptist Church, Mattoon, IL. The last 13 years of his ministry was with the Wayside Chapel Independent Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Glenn Lee Davis; parents, Lauden & Mae Davis; 3 brothers, Lee, Jack, Kenneth, and sister, Marjorie Riber. He is survived by his wife, Clara Christine, they were married almost 60 years; 2 sons, Stephen of Dallas, TX, Lynn and wife Brenda of Centerville, OH; daughter, Minta and husband Terry Hopson of Germantown, OH; 2 brothers, Bob and Carl Davis; sister, Dorotha Rowland; grandchildren, Heather and husband Rick Baarlaer, Eric and wife Patty Davis, Darlene and husband Vince Kirkpatrick, Tess and husband Tommy Thompson; great grandsons, Brandon, Devon, and Robert, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Family will receive friends from 9:00am until the time of service.
