Charles "Ed" Searcey

Charles Edward Searcey, 77, of West Milton passed away on April 22, 2023, at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born on March 6, 1946, in Johnson City, Tennessee to Clyde Searcey and Velma Shipley. He is preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Velma, and his children Joshua and Rose.

Ed is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lora Searcey; his children, Cheryl Fisher, Ellen Todd, Stephanie Achs, Robyn O'Malley, Mark Searcey, Erin Searcey, and Ashley Grunden; grandchildren, Kelsey, Kenny, Conor, Tara, Katie, Jake, Caitlyn, Ryan, Finn, Brendan, and Matthew; and great grandchild, Emma. He is also survived by numerous family and friends.

He was devoted to his faith in God, graduated from Sinclair Community College with two associate degrees, and employed by General Motors for 31 years. He was also in the US Navy for 10 years serving one tour during the Vietnam War.

He enjoyed music, movies, reading, and eating good food. Another favorite pastime was playing cards with family and friends. He also loved photography. Charles will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on April 28 from 9-10:30 at Newcomer Funeral Home in Huber Heights. Services will be held directly following the visitation at 10:30. His final resting place will be at Riverside Cemetery in West Milton, Ohio where he will be honored with a military salute.
