Charles E. Hockaday

Charles E. "Sam" Hockaday, age 83, of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014. He was born October 22, 1930 in Dayton. Sam served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a former employee of The City of Dayton Fire Dep. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Hockaday; parents, William L. and Isa Hockaday and brothers, Bill and Clyde Hockaday. Sam is survived by his son, Steve E. (Christy Shelton) Hockaday; sister, Katherine Kelly; special friend, Peggy Horn and also numerous family and friends. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Miami Valley Memorial Gardens 1639 E Lytle 5 Points Rd, Centerville, OH 45458. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
