Charles Donald Jackson
March 18, 1934 — February 19, 2015
Charles D. Jackson, 80, of Dayton, Ohio also known as "Chief" passed to eternal life peacefully in his home on February 19, 2015. Born March 18, 1934, he was the son of the late Carl Jackson and Lola Mae (Roosevelt) Harris.
A member of Wayman A.M.E. church, he retired from the Dayton VA Medical Center in 1989 after 32 years of service as the Chief of Police and Security. He was honorably discharged from the USAR in 1964.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Jackson; a son, Charles A. Jackson; brothers, Steven & Robert Jackson. Charles life was devoted to family and bringing a smile to others and he will be missed dearly.
Surviving children, Cynthia Jackson, Barbara (Reginald) Scott and Donald Brooks (Liz) all of Dayton, Ohio; Grandchildren, Ebony Jackson (Jermane) of Atlanta, GA, Janell Jackson of Indianapolis, IN, Micah Brooks, Isaiah Scott both of Dayton; Brother, Kalvin Jackson; Great Grandchildren and a host of Nieces, Nephews & other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Wayman AME Church, 3317 Hoover Ave, Dayton 45402 where visitation will be held one hour prior, from 10-11 AM Thursday. Burial at Dayton National Cemetery with Military Honors. Arrangements entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home 4104 Needmore Rd. Dayton, Ohio.
