Charles E. Devan, age 70, passed away Saturday March 8, 2014, at Kettering Memorial Hospital in Dayton, OH. He was born May 21, 1943, in Salem, OH and was an Alliance resident most of his life.
He married Jo Ann Fitzgerald on June 26, 1965. He retired from Transue and Williams Stamping Plant in 2007 after 40 years of service. He was an active member of the Lexington Twp. Vol. Fire Dept. for over 30 years, also serving as Fire Chief for a time.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Devan, of Dayton, OH; daughter and son-in-law, Cathy (Devan) and David Leonard Sr., of Dayton, OH; 5 grandchildren, Mellisa Rigdon, of Akron, OH, Allison Rigdon, David Leonard Jr, and twins, Darik and Daniel Leonard, all of Dayton, OH; sisters, Marilyn Devan and Denise (Devan) Schneider both of Canton, OH.
Memorial service will be held Saturday March 22, 2014 at 1pm at His Place For You Ministries, 1330 Whipple Avenue N.W., Canton, OH (Meyers Lake Plaza).
Pastor Robert E. Cook is officiating.
Arrangements are by the Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel), Kettering, OH.
