Charles "Buddy" Chaffins

Charles "Buddy" Chaffins, age 64 of Moraine, passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by his loved ones, on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born February 27, 1957 in Wayland, Kentucky, the son of the late Cecil and Erma Chaffins.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Albert (Becky), Dee, Bobbi, Serena, Ricky, Buster (Debbie), and Dale.

Buddy is survived by his wife, Angie (Chambers); children, Sara Chaffins (Jason Neargarder), Mike (Shelby) Chaffins, Michelle Chaffins; adopted daughter/niece, Karla (Tony) Sensabaugh; step-daughters, Christina (Tim) Shelton, Jessie (Wade) Brockman; grandchildren, Desi, Craig, Bria, Bryson, Marley, Ryleigh, Evie, Max, Avery, Allister, Ari; twin sister, Charlotte (Kenny); siblings, Jay B (Brenda), Wally (Ann), Steve (Sheila), Girlie (Darrell); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Buddy worked at Family Market in Moraine, and retired from the City of Moraine after 15 years of employment. He was an avid Harley rider and Hot Rod enthusiast, and was a member of the Dayton Corvair Club. Buddy never knew a stranger and would drop anything he was doing to help anyone in need. He was a father-figure and brother to many and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Newcomer Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439). Funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a contribution to Newcomer Funeral Home in Kettering, to assist with Buddy's final expenses.
