Charles Arthur Burgess, Sr.

Charles Arthur "Bud" Burgess, Sr., age 77, of Huber Heights, passed away May 23, 2021. He was born December 5, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio. Bud was preceded in death by his father, Charles A. Burgess; mother, Geneva Boone; brothers: James P. Burgess, John A. Burgess; brothers-in-law: Ed Hurley, Steve Daugherty and Curt Daugherty; and sisters-in-law: Opal Phillips and Ella Daugherty.

Bud is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judy Burgess; children: Lisa Hartman (Paul) and Charles Burgess, Jr.; grandchildren: Marisa Rice and Jacob Rice; sisters: Sandra Burgess and Bonnie Stewart (John); brothers: Gary Boone (Mary), Roger Boone (Pat) and Rodney Boone (Marie); brothers-in-law: James Daugherty (Deborah) and Doug Daugherty (Debbie); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bud was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, Vietnam War. He retired from General Motors after 32 years of service. Bud was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Huber Heights Post # 3283. Bud was a great man who will be missed by all who loved him.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday. Burial with military honors will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Bud's memory to any veteran's organization of your choice.
