Charles A. "Chuck" Bertke, age 62, of Kettering, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 2, 2017.
Chuck graduated from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Although his degree was in electrical engineering, his passion in life was being an educator. He had an amazing sense of humor, and always had a story to tell.
Chuck was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Bertke and nephew, Scott Murphy.
He is survived by his father, Linus Bertke (age 98); siblings, Linda (Carl) Whitener, Mike (Joan) Bertke, Lois (Jack) Requarth, Wanda (Mike) Murphy and Patty Isaacs; best friend, Bruce A. Finley; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 9 , 2017 from 10:30-11am at Newcomer- Beavercreek Chapel (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45432). The service will follow at 11am. A private burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Chuck's memory to the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, (https://www.nami.org/).
