Charles Russell Bartram, Sr., age 85 of Dayton, passed away November 3, 2018. He was born November 15, 1932 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Sidney A. "Bert" and Laura Bartram. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Mae Bartram; sisters: Lillian Perry, Bertie Harrison and Hazel Bartram; and brothers: Roy, Taylor, Sidney and Louis Bartram.
Charles is survived by; daughter, Hazel "Charlene" (Dwight) Bruggeman; sons: Charles Jr. (Dawn) Bartram, Kenny (Bonnie) Anderson, Donald Lewber; grandchildren: Matthew (Lauren), Taylor & Cody Bruggeman, Cierra & Charles III Bartram, Melissa Taylor, Shawn Anderson, Damon, Chad, Cory & Aaron Lewber; 13 great grandchildren; sisters: Garnet Violet and Annis Baker; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Korean War. He was a member of Huber Heights Church of God. Charles retired from the City of Dayton after 27 years of service, had previously worked part time at C & D Collision Center, and enjoyed going to garage sales and flea markets. More than anything, Charles loved spending time with his family. He was a kind hearted man who was loved by everyone who knew him.
Visitation will be held from to 12-1 pm on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Huber Heights Church of God, 6900 Brandt Pike, where the funeral service will begin at 1:00. Pastor Dwight Bruggeman officiating. Burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be made in Charles' memory to the American Heart Association.
