HOOTEN, Charles A., age 78, of Bethel Township, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012. He was born March 31, 1933 in Livingston, TN, to the late Rev. Herman and Mary (Shelton) Hooten.

Charles was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean Conflict and was the owner of Hooten Construction.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jeana "Joann" Hooten; children, Norma Palmer, Ann (Michael) Elsass, Richard Hooten and Charlie (Twain) C. Carter; 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and 1 step-grandchild.

Charles was preceded in death by 6 siblings, Clara Paige, Bill Hooten, James Hooten, J.B. Hooten, Walter Hooten and Dennis Hooten.

Visitation in Tennessee will be held Sunday, February 19, 2012 from 5-8 pm at Crestlawn Funeral Home in Cookeville, Tennessee.

A graveside service will be held Monday, February 20, 2012 at 10:00 am in Crestlawn Cemetery with Pastor Frank Davis officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, Northridge Freewill Baptist Church Missionary Fund for Carl and Teresa Poynter or the Mustard Seed Ranch in Cookeville, TN.
