Charlene Teresa Del Turco, age 68, of Dayton, Ohio went to be with the Lord on August 29, 2024. She was born in Dayton on October 23, 1955 to the late Thomas (father) and Wanda (mother) Matta. In addition to her parents, Charlene is preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Michael Del Turco; sister, Marlene De Bord and brothers, Thomas Matta and Raymond Matta.
She is survived by her sisters, Mary Ann White, Susan Dalton; nieces, Laura Oney (Eric Wright), Billie Henderson, Ashley (Mike) Barnett, Alisa Matta, Amaya Matta and nephews, Robert White and Ron White; along with many other family and friends.
Charlene was employed at Standard Register/CSC for 30 years. She was a dedicated, hard worker, and she excelled in her position. Besides serving in this role, she held many roles in church throughout the years. Charlene’s first love and passion was for Jesus Christ. Charlene sought out opportunities to help others learn about God. She helped guide family and friends, and she taught them using her wisdom and knowledge of the Bible. She would not hesitate to reach out to a stranger and tell them about the Word of God.
Charlene loved spending time with her family and friends whether it was treasure hunting for a special antique item or simply chatting and sharing laughs together. She appreciated the “small things” in life like a good cup of coffee or watching the birds flutter about outside her window. She also enjoyed photography and capturing these special moments on film.
Charlene was committed to helping others, which was evident in her kindness and generosity. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and send a loving prayer. Charlene, like her husband Phil, was a true prayer warrior. She spent hours studying the Word, praying and worshipping. Remarkably, she did this up until her final moments of life on earth.
Although all that knew Charlene will miss her dearly, there is no doubt that she is experiencing the highest level of joy. Charlene has finally met Jesus face-to-face and has been reunited with so many family members that joined the Lord before her.
