HOMER, Charla Jo, age 55, of Beavercreek, September 11, 1954 - December 6, 2009. Charla loved working with the Beavercreek City Schools as a special needs bus assistant and then as a Fairbrook Elementary School special needs classroom assistant and will be missed by all her students and co-workers. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was proceeded in death by her parents Charles C. and Irene Friend. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years Richard and their sons Christopher and Brian, loving daughter in law Jessie and her beloved grandson Gavin. Sister Carla (Tom) Thomas, brother Charles (Debbie) Friend, special Aunt Gladys Zink, nieces and nephews Tricia, Tommie, Josh, and great-nephews Jordan and Jonathan, sisters-in-law Karen and Shari and many other beloved friends and family members. She fought a courageous and heroic battle with breast cancer for the past three years where she never ever, once gave up her fight against the cruel disease. We would be grateful for donations to be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society, or to the Hospice of Dayton. Viewing will be from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday and the services at 11:00 am Thursday at Newcomer Funeral Home located at 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432.
