CharAnn Barbadora, age 90 of Dayton, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at 10 Wilmington Place in Dayton, Ohio. She was born on May 19, 1934, in Sidney Ohio, to the late John and Caroline (Wachsmuth) Lauterbur. CharAnn was known for her bubbly and loving personality, and she never met a stranger.
CharAnn was a charter member of St. Luke Parish in Beavercreek and a longtime member of Church of the Ascension in Kettering. She loved a good game of bridge or euchre and was also an avid tennis player. She and her late husband, Al, shared a profound love for the game, and were members of the Virginia Hollinger Memorial Tennis Club for over 50 years. They also enjoyed spending time visiting Hilton Head, creating lasting memories that their family will forever treasure.
CharAnn is survived by her beloved children, Diane (Bruce) Jacoby, Karen (Brian) Davis, Allan (Eileen) Barbadora, Linda (Steve) Berberich, and Steve (Kathy) Barbadora. She took immense joy in her 13 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom were a source of endless pride and love for her. Additionally, CharAnn enjoyed the loving companionship of Jim Sundermeyer, who brought comfort and happiness during her later years. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends who shared in her laughter and love.
Along with her parents, she is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband of 63 years, Albert Barbadora; as well as 4 sisters and 2 brothers. CharAnn’s legacy of kindness, warmth, and connection will be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 from 4 pm to 8 pm at Newcomer Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, OH 45459). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 10:30 am at St. Charles Borromeo (4500 Ackerman Blvd., Kettering, OH 45429).
