BENEZRA, Cecilia (Rohrkemper) , 92, of Kettering passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Miami Valley Hospital.
Born May 5, 1919 to the late Albert and Helen Rohrkemper.
She is preceded in death by her husbands Paul Angerer who died during WWII and Joseph Benezra ; sisters Mary Shultz and Sister Alberta Rohrkemper, SND; son-in-law Rudy Andzik; and great grandson Jared. Cecilia is survived by her brother Father Charles B. Rohrkemper; six children Cecilia (Robert) Grewe, David (Tina) Benezra, Michael Benezra, Mary Ann Messing, Katherine (Michael) Jenkins, Elizabeth (Ronald) Warnock; Godchild Helen (Robert) Alig; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Cecilia, true to her name, loved music and was a church organist, for over 50 years, at St. Helen's, St. Stephens and all the chapels at WBAFB. She was a graduate of Julienne High School (1937) Central State University, Magna Cum Laude (1967). She was a vocal music teacher for Fairborn City Schools. Cecilia loved to sing, play bridge, and sew quilts. Her passion was to travel especially to Rome. The family would like to thank Dr. John Boyle, Dr. Nicholas Christoff, Father Dave Brinkmoeller, and caregivers Sue M, Sheila, Sylvia, Teresa, Mary T and Chrissy.
A funeral mass will be held 11:00AM Friday, July 22, 2011 at St Helen's Parish, 605 Granville Place, Riverside, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00AM Friday prior to services at church.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Vincent Hotel, c\o Ann Goble, 120 W. Apple St., Dayton, Ohio 45402.
