Cecil D. Rooks, Jr., age 76, of Dayton, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014.
He was born in Cincinnati on October 1, 1937 to the late Cecil & Mamie Rooks.
Cecil was a 32 degree Mason and belonged to the Scottish Rite. He was the owner of A&A Antenna & Satellite.
Cecil was preceded in death by his sister, Beulah Zoz.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Janet Rooks; children, Donna (Jim) Shafar and Rodney (April Dameron) Rooks; grandchildren, Jandi Sirkis, Morgan Shafar, Taylor Melzoni, Hunter Rooks and Travis Rooks; great-granddaughter, Maci; sisters, June (Charles) Lyons, Patricia (Will) Doak; nieces and nephews, Raymond, Barbara, Belinda, Robert, Bev, Mike, Cheryl and Jerry; special friends, Jerry Ward, Gary Warlaumont, Murry Ross and Wilson Bunger; and special family friends, Jerry, Sherri, Emilie and Chad.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 2-4pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The Masonic ceremony will begin at 3:30pm with the funeral service to follow at 4pm.
