Cecil Ashby, age 86, of Dayton, passed away and went to be with the Lord, Sunday, April 17, 2011.
He was born in Webster County, KY on March 29, 1925 to the late Clarence & Beatrice Ashby.
Cecil is survived by his former wife and companion of 39 years, Lovelle Pendley; and her family; best friend, James Gray; and many more friends. He attended Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Kettering.
Many thanks to the pastor, his family, and the staff at Heartland of Kettering. His humor and zest for life was his gift from God. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The service will follow at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at Hillgrove Cemetery in Miamisburg.
