Catherine M. Mackie, age 63 of Dayton, Ohio passed away Friday, March 27, 2020. She was born November 13, 1956 in Dayton, Ohio, the eldest child to the late Rev. James and Maxine Gabbard.
Cathy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Besides her family, Cathy's life work was her singing ministry where she traveled the country singing gospel.
Cathy will be missed by her loving husband of 46 years, Roger; six sons, Roger (Vickie) Mackie, Jr., Lonnie E. Mackie (Crystal), Matthew (Lovella) Mackie, James (Kim) Mackie, Paul (Jessica) Mackie, Anthony (Chelsea) Mackie; two daughters, Heather (Joey) Jones, Sherry Mackie; many grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Jim (Mary) Gabbard, Terry Gabbard, Freda (Earnest) Isaacs, Mary Gabbard, Rebecca (Tim) Collins, and Penny Gabbard; and many nieces and nephews.
Due to the circumstances surrounding COVID-19, Cathy's services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
